She’s done it all: built a multi-million-dollar business, overcome cancer, and raised her kids as a single mom. Step One: Finding Your Soul-Aligned Business Idea

So many women feel trapped in unfulfilling jobs but don’t know where to start when it comes to building a business from their passions. According to Erica, it all begins with three key questions:

• What are you naturally good at?
• What skills or gifts have people always complimented you on?
• What lights you up?
• If money weren’t a factor, what would you spend your time doing?
• How can you use those gifts to create value and impact?

“I knew I was here for something more than the soul-sucking nine-to-five,” Erica says. “I did not feel like I came here to earn millions for companies that already had millions. That was the wake-up call I needed.”

Erica’s personal journey led her from corporate recruitment to heart-centered career coaching and eventually to helping women awaken their purpose. Her upcoming book, Awaken Your Purpose, breaks down the exact process for turning your passion into profit—without losing yourself in the process.

Overcoming Fear and Money Mindset Blocks

Let’s talk about fear—because it’s the biggest roadblock for women stepping into entrepreneurship. The common thoughts? Who am I to do this? Who would actually buy from me? There are already so many people doing this. Sound familiar?

Erica experienced this firsthand, especially when the people closest to her doubted her. “My husband at the time told me, ‘You can’t start your business. We have babies. You need a stable income.’” Instead of giving up, she took out a 0% interest credit card and bet on herself. “You have to dig deep,” she says. “If your business is truly aligned with your purpose, you’ll fight for it.”

Another major challenge? Charging your worth. So many women undervalue themselves, thinking, I can’t possibly charge that much! Erica’s first three-month coaching package? $675. Now? $15,000.

“I had a lot of work to do around my money mindset,” she admits. “I grew up thinking I had to rely on someone else to build wealth. Now I bring in $200K months. But it started with me slowly raising my prices and believing in the value I bring.”

Scaling Without Hustle: The Purpose-Driven Profit Formula

One of the biggest mistakes new entrepreneurs make? Focusing all their energy on social media. “People think they have to start with social media,” Erica says. “But if you’re not getting in front of new potential clients every month, you’re just spinning your wheels.”

Instead, she emphasizes external marketing—workshops, networking, guest speaking—so you always have fresh leads. “Social media should only be 20% of your marketing efforts. The rest should be actively getting in front of your ideal clients.”

And let’s not forget about burnout. Many women believe they have to hustle 24/7 to succeed. Erica’s solution? Delegation.

“The best investment I made wasn’t in my business—it was hiring a house assistant,” she laughs. “I don’t do laundry, I don’t grocery shop, I don’t even pick up dog poop. That freed me to focus on my business and my kids.”

But she also stresses the importance of hiring strategically in your business.

“I don’t want to be the smartest person in my company. I hire people who tell me what to do, not the other way around.”
