You have the dogs, the car, the house, the kids, and the husband, but…are you happy? Are you truly living the life you want to live? Or is your life controlled by how you want others to see you? Are you feeling over-worked and under-appreciated? Do you ever just sit for a moment and self-reflect on your life and can genuinely say you are living your best life?
In this podcast episode, I take you on a very personal journey with me. There I was walking on the Santa Monica Pier having a moment of self-reflection and I recorded it. There is laughter, crying, moments of self-flection as well as many ah-ha moments. Grab a pen and paper as you will learn a lot from this episode, also, grab some tissues while you’re at it.

Are you letting yourself be led by expectations?
Or “I wasn’t doing it right”, or, “I wasn’t being the right mom”. There, again, I’m led by expectations and expectations. (Veronica Cisneros)
How much of your life is being led by expectations?
Both of what you expect of yourself, and what you think others expect of you? Can you give yourself permission to simply enjoy your life without having to ask permission and seeking to serve someone else’s expectations?
Instead, I gave myself permission to do this, and because I gave myself permission to do this I wasn’t going to hold back at all, I was going to enjoy it as much as possible. (Veronica Cisneros)
Do you second guess yourself?
If you are allowing yourself to only be led by the expectations of others, do you find yourself living in fear of falling short of those expectations?
Just consider how much more deeply you could experience life if you simply gave yourself the permission to be you, to follow your heart, and to be present – fully.
We can learn – I can learn – so much from these seagulls, and what I can learn is to stop with the expectations. Cut that shit out. What do you really want to do? Are you living the life you want to live? (Veronica Cisneros)
Homework for your best self
Put aside some time for yourself where you can reflect and be with your thoughts and emotions. Set a 30-minute timer and ask yourself these questions:
1 – Write down all of the roles you are currently playing.
2 – How can you be most effective in each role?
3 – Spend time with your answers, and see where your thoughts take you. Be open, loving, and honest with yourself.

Meet Veronica Cisneros
Hello, my name is Veronica Cisneros, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist for over 7 years, a Group Private Practice owner, a Mother of 3, and married for over 20 years. I help housewives transform their marriage, communicate effectively and build confidence. Like you, I also struggled with cutting through the communication barriers. I felt like there was no reason for my husband and me to feel unhappy because we had it all. We just felt disconnected and our conversations were filled with avoidance, kids’ hobbies, and schedules.
I’ve helped plenty of couples in my private practice who struggled with similar issues. With my proven strategies and step-by-step skills, I’ve helped hundreds of women reignite their marriages. I am known for helping women step outside of their comfort zones, I don’t do bandaids, I only teach life-changing healing methods.
