Don’t let your life pass you by
It was time for me to stop beating around the bush, and it was time for me to start really stepping into who I am and what my power was. (Jenn Adamson)
Fear is a powerful emotion, and it can stop you at every turn. If you do not learn how to cultivate a strong anecdote to it within yourself, you will stay stuck.
You need to see fear differently, and see it as a guiding light to places that are new to you, and that you can explore further.
Shine it like a light on the things that you know you need to work on for yourself because time can go fast, especially when you are not noticing it and making the most of the time that you have.
Putting one step in front of the other takes practice, and it’s the same with showing up authentically as yourself – through fear. That authenticity will light you up, as well as the people around you.
We have to start with those first few steps and understand that it’s not the striving for perfection, it’s the progress. It’s putting one foot in front of the other. It’s the radical belief in ourselves, even when our circumstances don’t look like that right now. (Jenn Adamson)
Where high-achieving women can get stuck
One of the ways that many high-achieving women can get tripped up on their path to holistic success that’s in alignment with their values is to ignore the present moment.
“We’re avoiding the ‘now’”, I hear that a lot. Like; “I can’t experience the ‘now’ because I haven’t established or I haven’t accomplished this goal”. (Veronica Cisneros)
Many high-achieving women will only allow themselves to relish in and enjoy their lives once everything “gets done”.
However, that’s part of life, and things always tend to happen and get in the way. If you fall into the trap of putting off your life until you get everything done, you’re going to lose out on a large amount of your life in general.
Learning how to live in uncertainty, and be okay with it, is key to letting yourself enjoy your life while still building something for your future.
Set the intention in the mornings and be like; “I’m going to do my best to be where my feet are.” So, if my feet are with my daughter in the morning. That means I’m not checking my phone for emails. That I trust myself enough that when the time comes when I’ve dropped off my daughter and I’m here at my desk, now it’s my time to work. It’s a practice. (Jenn Adamson)
These moments of pure presence and awareness are what connect you to the present moment, and allow you to bring in and notice the abundance and wonderfulness of your life.
Reflect on your past achievements
If we don’t allow ourselves the time to really truly reflect, we will start to pile things on, and that’s what starts to cause burnout and us spinning our wheels, and depleting our energy. (Jenn Adamson)
If you really want to level up your life in the best way possible, then make some time each day or week – however you want – to reflect on your life up until now.
Think back on who you were a few months or years ago, and what you wanted. Think about what you have now, and who you are. It is probably likely that the life you have now is the life you used to dream about and work hard toward.
Making the time to connect with yourself in this way and to appreciate how far you have come, while you still continue going, allows you to breathe, and to know that everything’s going to be okay because you’re reminding yourself of that right now.
We know ourselves better than anyone else. You are the guru of your own life. Now, coaches and therapists are wonderful people to have, but ultimately when it comes down to it. Take what resonates and leave the rest if it doesn’t resonate with you because you’re your own best guru. (Jenn Adamson)
Take a few minutes in the morning or in the evening to just reflect, realize, and look back to see how far you have come, and to fortify yourself for where you are going.
Jenn’s tip to high-achieving women
Give yourself time to reflect. Even for a few minutes, write down or speak to yourself about the things you worked toward, have accomplished, and where you are right now.
Take stock of your blessings and hard work in the present moment because it affirms your hard work, and your strength, and allows you to celebrate yourself.

Meet Veronica Cisneros
Hello, my name is Veronica Cisneros, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Marriage Coach, Course Creator, Retreat Host, Mother of 3, married for 23 years, host of the Empowered and Unapologetic podcast, and owner of a group private practice called Outside The Norm Counseling.
A lot of couples struggle with setting aside intentional time to connect and communicate. They yearn for meaningful conversations that don’t lead to arguments.
1 month away from divorce, I realized I had to do something different. For years I had compromised myself to meet the needs of my husband and my child, I lost myself and was about to lose my marriage. After years of personal growth and self-reflection, I not only reclaimed my identity, and celebrated 23 years of marriage but also helped hundreds of couples transform their marriage from feeling like roommates to experiencing a deeper love.
I am on a mission to help couples reignite the fire by providing them with the skills to have the relationship they deserve.
