When I say Chrissy Grigoropoulos is a powerhouse, I mean it. This woman is an attorney, real estate broker, CEO of multiple businesses, and now a published author. I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Chrissy on the Empowered and Unapologetic podcast, and y’all—I left that conversation fired up. Chrissy doesn’t just drop gems, she drops truth bombs.
She’s completely self-made, hustling her way from immigrant roots to the top of the professional food chain. Chrissy graduated high school at 16, college at 19, and law school by 25. Did she miss out on parties? Yup. Did she gain a thriving law firm and an empire? Hell yes.
“There’s no magic wand,” she said. “I wish.”
Chrissy’s success is no accident. It’s grit, late nights, sacrifice, and saying no to the distractions that so many of us cave into. She’s also very real about the struggle. From skipping parties to choosing her career over dating, Chrissy is honest about the cost of ambition—and she’s unapologetic about it.
“You’ll always find an excuse if you need one as to why you’re not succeeding.”
—Chrissy Grigoropoulos
Ditch the Excuses and Build the Damn Thing
Let’s talk about what really hit me: Chrissy’s approach to starting businesses. She calls them “baby businesses,” and girl, if that doesn’t hit right in the mom-entrepreneur heart, I don’t know what does.
She didn’t wait for a degree to define her worth. She found value in skills. Like organizing, cooking, or even making charcuterie boards. “You don’t need capital,” she said. “You need fire inside of you.”
Preach, lady shark.
Chrissy shared that real success is built over time. It’s about consistency, strategy, and reminding yourself why you started in the first place. She didn’t make any real money in her law firm until five years in. Five years! Can we normalize talking about the slow burn of building something worthwhile?
“The work that you put in today, it’s not going to pay you tomorrow. It’s going to pay you in six months, a year, two years, five years.”
—Chrissy Grigoropoulos
So, for my ladies feeling discouraged because you’re not “there” yet, stop scrolling through highlight reels on Instagram and thinking everyone else has it figured out. They don’t. Chrissy reminds us that no one has it together, not really.
“There’s no such thing as mastering any of that. We’re all just trying.”
—Chrissy Grigoropoulos
Real Talk: Marriage, Motherhood, and Making It Work
Let’s get really real. As high-achieving women, many of us struggle to balance our roles as wives, mothers, and business owners. Chrissy gets it. She’s raising two (soon to be three!) kids while running multiple businesses—and she doesn’t sugarcoat the chaos.
She shared how communication in her marriage has been one of her biggest learning curves. Like many of us, she assumed her husband should “just know” how she feels. Spoiler alert: that never works. We laughed, we commiserated, and we acknowledged the reality—running a business while parenting toddlers is basically running two startups at the same time.
Chrissy is also fiercely protective of her time. She swears by to-do lists, even texts herself notes when her brain won’t shut off. And she’s learned to separate what feels urgent from what actually matters. That includes unplugging for short breaks—even if it’s just a few days—to avoid burnout.
So if you’re feeling like you’re running on empty, Chrissy’s advice is to stop aiming for perfect. Instead, focus on being present and communicating openly. Especially with your partner.
And the most important message? Forget what people think.
Whether it’s judgment about your career, your parenting, or the car you drive—if they’re not paying your bills or hugging your babies, their opinions don’t matter.
Chrissy’s book, Lady Shark: How to Become a Millionaire in Your 30s, is out now and packed with tips, workbooks, and mindset shifts to help you go from surviving to slaying. Grab your copy on Amazon, and connect with her @ChrissyGOfficial on Instagram. Trust me, this is one woman you want in your corner.
And to all my ladies listening—if you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it. Stop sitting on your potential. You don’t need permission. Just ask yourself: how bad do you want it?
Because guess what?
You’re not too late.
You’re not too old.
You’re just getting started.
