Are you actually living the life you want to live? What is standing in your way between the life you have and the life that you want? Are you holding yourself accountable for creating the life that you want to live and the life that you know is out there for you?
In this podcast episode, I talk about real change for busy moms and aligning time with personal values.
Summary
- What’s your life like?
- Living Intentionally
- Are you excusing yourself from your dream life?
What’s your life like?
Think about your life right now, and how you are living it. I don’t mean this in some cheap new-years-resolution way, but I’m honestly asking you: are you enjoying living the life that you currently have?
Look at your calendar and your schedule. Are you living in alignment with your values?
I did this podcast episode and the guest left me with something so valuable, and I have it right here. She stated that the changes she started making were based off of this question; does your calendar match your values? (Veronica Cisneros)
Do your behaviors match your values? Does the way that you are existing in your relationship match your values?
Just because you are busy in your day doesn’t necessarily mean that you are busy with what matters most to you, or what you know is going to change your life for the better.
Living Intentionally
Be intentional about how you structure your time so that you are bringing in your values with meaning and mindfulness.
That’s something I need to hold myself accountable for because who else is going to do it? There’s nobody standing in line wanting to help me change this. I’ve gotta be an active member, I have to be my own advocate, I have to be the one that does this. (Veronica Cisneros)
Does your life – the way that you are living it – match what you value? If it’s not, why not? What is standing in the way? If you say “time”, I call bullshit! Because you need to prioritize it if you want it.
Are you excusing yourself from your dream life?
What are the excuses that you’re making for not going after creating the life for yourself that you know you want to live?
How are you letting yourself off the hook from the life that you want? There is a difference between regrouping and readdressing a situation versus allowing yourself to constantly put off your dreams for whatever reason.
Is it because we’re stuck in the familiar? If I load up my calendar, if I multitask, if I am able to do everything. Why are we so wrapped up in trying to go ahead and maximize all of this time instead of just being in the moment and being intentional? (Veronica Cisneros)
There is never going to be the right time. The time is right when you actually start, and make it happen.
Is the way that you are aggressively trying to achieve your goals may be getting in the way of you experiencing them?
- What changes do you need to make?
- How can you look at your values differently?
- Can you reframe your values to be things that make your life feel better for you to live instead of making your life look better to others?

Meet Veronica Cisneros
Hello, my name is Veronica Cisneros, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Marriage Coach, Course Creator, Retreat Host, Mother of 3, married for 23 years, host of the Empowered and Unapologetic podcast, and owner of a group private practice called Outside The Norm Counseling.
A lot of couples struggle with setting aside intentional time to connect and communicate. They yearn for meaningful conversations that don’t lead to arguments.
1 month away from divorce, I realized I had to do something different. For years I had compromised myself to meet the needs of my husband and my child, I lost myself and was about to lose my marriage. After years of personal growth and self-reflection, I not only reclaimed my identity, and celebrated 23 years of marriage but also helped hundreds of couples transform their marriage from feeling like roommates to experiencing a deeper love.
I am on a mission to help couples reignite the fire by providing them with the skills to have the relationship they deserve.
