Develop your mindset
There are going to be times on your journey, whether you are starting a business, learning something new, or creating a positive change in your life when things get tough.
Sometimes challenges might be pushing you to go in a new direction, but most of the time those challenges are to test your resolve, grit, and to make you show yourself how much you want to achieve this.
To do this, you will need to level up and maintain a mindset that is capable of helping you through these challenges.
It was just positive vibes, going through what I was going through, not giving up on myself, and just not letting all the days of not getting the phone calls or not getting the clients put me down. (Priscilla Loomis)
When you are experiencing these challenges, remind yourself of why you are going down this path. Remind yourself of what waits for you on the other side of this journey, and remember why you decided that you wanted to do it.
I had to continuously show up for my value, my voice, and myself. I faked it until I made it, and… I made it! (Priscilla Loomis)
Focus on you too
One of the most common aspects of high-achieving women is this sense to do everything themselves and to do it all perfectly.
The thing is: this is not possible for long periods of time. It is not sustainable, and if you continue on this path for so long, you will experience burnout. What you need to do is to include yourself in the equation, and take care of yourself as well.
That’s not selfish in a negative way, it’s you taking care of yourself. You cannot be all of the things, you can’t! Be the best you. Be the one thing that you want to do. Lead the impact that you want to lead, and have your surroundings match that. Have your surroundings align with that. (Priscilla Loomis)
Your success needs to be sustainable for it to be real and uplifting in the long term. Even so, you might find that you need to readdress and redefine some of your dreams and aspirations if they ask you to completely burn yourself out to achieve them.
Sometimes you have to let go of a dream if you come to find that it simply asks too much of you to give, and you are not failing for making that adjustment.
I had to get rid of one of my businesses because I couldn’t juggle it all. I can’t! I’m only one person! I had to get rid of one recently, and I’m okay with it! (Priscilla Loomis)
Train for your dreams like an Olympian
Pricilla asks an amazing question: what is your Olympic sport? What are you training for? What are you preparing to strive toward and win?
Olympians train for four years for one day, maybe two. Olympians spend four years for one day. I trained for eight years for one day because I missed it the first time, so, what are you training for? And what things are blocking your blessing? (Priscilla Loomis)
Olympians train from the goal backward. They first see the limitless goal, the thing that they want to win. They imagine the moment, the feeling, and then they work backward to understand what is necessary to get there.
Take it step by step, and that’s where a business plan can help you. Figure out what your goal is, work backward, put it in a plan, and get to it.
It’s about doing it! You’ve got to be feeling good about what you do and where you’re at and feel that fire, that passion … and yes, this shit gets hard, but it doesn’t matter because easy will never get you there. (Priscilla Loomis)

Meet Veronica Cisneros
Hello, my name is Veronica Cisneros, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Marriage Coach, Course Creator, Retreat Host, Mother of 3, married for 23 years, host of the Empowered and Unapologetic podcast, and owner of a group private practice called Outside The Norm Counseling.
A lot of couples struggle with setting aside intentional time to connect and communicate. They yearn for meaningful conversations that don’t lead to arguments.
1 month away from divorce, I realized I had to do something different. For years I had compromised myself to meet the needs of my husband and my child, I lost myself and was about to lose my marriage. After years of personal growth and self-reflection, I not only reclaimed my identity, and celebrated 23 years of marriage but also helped hundreds of couples transform their marriage from feeling like roommates to experiencing a deeper love.
I am on a mission to help couples reignite the fire by providing them with the skills to have the relationship they deserve.
